Thanks. Like I said, you guys had me worried early though.

Yeah, I'd be concerned about your defense long term. More specifically, they didn't seem to play with much fire. I noticed many plays where UM defenders could've swarmed to the ball and were basically jogging. But your offense could be very tough to slow down in coming years. I thought it was interesting thing that the announcers mentioned that Tate would've come to PSU if he had a chance to play right away.

Hopefully the Terrell Pryor era, leads to UM and PSU battling for some BigTen titles in the coming years.

Ohio State coming up and I'm going to be above the timber line at Beaver Stadium.

Can't wait. It's 50/50 on who comes out victorious for this one. I do think we have the better team but that rarely matters in this matchup.

The game at 3:30 is big for OSU. Still gonna be a tough game, but night games at that stadium are something completely different.

The 2nd half will be played in the dark. I think it'll be another hard fought, defensive battle. There's no way OSU's offense goes off against you guys, and I think OSU's defense will slow you guys down.

I'm hoping for one big special teams play by OSU.

I have to be honest with you cjc, I'm pretty confident. Your QB is a head case.

Haha. Don't worry we still plan on coming loud as heck regardless of KO time. The only "advantage" to an 8 PM kickoff is 4 more hours of drinking. I'd put my money that it's another low scoring affair like last year with both teams playing the field position game. Which means special teams SHOULD play a big role and I give that edge to OSU. We have a great punter but a young placekicker and no gamebreaking return guy. And our punt protection has been suspect.

Head says OSU wins. Heart wants a suffocating PSU defense and a 21 pt margin of victory.

Dammit "head" was right in a lot of ways.

I was at the game and the first aspect of their win was killing us with field position with their punt coverage. On our end we were so concerned with punt protection that our cover guys were very late to release and led to great field position for OSU.

Tressel came in with a great game plan and didn't put Pryor in a position to fail. We couldn't get any pressure on him because there were very few plays where he had to sit back and wait for receivers to get open.

The back breaker was the long TD pass that had blown coverage deep by the safety.

It was a weird game at Beaver stadium to say the least. The crowd was pretty quiet except for one play in the third where it got really loud. That was it. The highlight turned out to be the F-16 flyover during the national anthem. From a PSU perspective it was pretty boring. We came in with a "close-to-the-vest" (no pun intended) mindset and used our playbook circa 1995 for the most part. The two times we came out with 5WR set, it was a QB draw that was easily sniffed out.

We played flat, no emotion. Disappointing too because we had that recruit, Lattimore, from South Carolina on the sideline.

Sometimes I wonder what's up with this team. It's like we break out our best offensive ideas for the weaker teams—the ones we could play vanilla and still win. But with the good teams, we play it tight and there's no margin for error.

But with that said, I don't think it was the playcalling that lost us this game. We got outplayed and out executed by Ohio State. Pure and simple and sad. Big Ten title on the line and you come out with this effort.

I was mad all week that I had to go to a wedding and wouldn't be able to see the game. What a blessing in disguise that turned out to be. I saw some highlights and wanted to poke out my eyes.

This game reminded me a lot of the early season games...a hollow win. I can't believe we were tied with Indiana at halftime, or the fact that we were losing at any point ever.

This team is headed for a beatdown at the hands of an SEC team come bowl season unless they get their **** together.

I've seen that projection, as well as Outback vs. Mississippi.

Penn St. to adjust season-ticket pricing

Quote:
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Penn State Nittany Lions plans to adjust its season-ticket pricing guidelines in 2011 to account for where people sit in Beaver Stadium.

Some fans might have to fork over more money to the booster club to stay in their seats, or can pay the same amount but possibly be moved to a less desirable location -- say someone going from seats on the 40 to behind the end zone.
Quote:
Penn State is in the middle of the Big Ten in terms of season-ticket prices. One ticket at the 45-yard line would cost $540 for an eight-game schedule; the most expensive ticket is the $1,950 at Ohio State, which includes a $1,500 minimum donation.
Quote:
The Penn State plan would also shuffle the student section from its current location in one quadrant of the stadium from the 40 to the south end zone, to wrapping around the entire end zone, bookended at about the 10-yard lines. That would open more desirable seats to season-ticket holders.
Quote:
Penn State's athletic department is self-supporting and does not use tuition dollars or other university funding to pay for its large athletics program, which runs 29 sports.

Of those sports, only football and men's basketball operate at a profit. Revenues from football are used to help pay for other sports.
The last quoted section is, to me, particularly important when we get criticized for "weak" scheduling in certain years. Not that other schools don't have athletic programs to support, but that's their business if they choose to run deficits. Apparently, we recently tried to schedule TCU but they wanted $1 million to play us, as opposed to the usual $350K we pay the cupcakes.

that's weird....I think TCU would *****-slap Penn State. A win over Penn State would be the marquee victory TCU would need to get into a National Championship game with an undefeated season.

Did Penn State offer them a home and home, or just a one game deal in happy valley?

Well, I doubt it would be a *****-slapping, but they'd certainly have a good shot at winning. From what I've heard, PSU sometimes offers 2-1 deals, two home games for PSU, 1 home game for the other team. At least, that sort of bargaining is what ended the Pittsburgh rivalry.

should be home and home all around in my opinion; 1 for 1.

I think TCU might be the best team in the country this year (that includes my Gators) too bad we will never find out if that is the case.
