What do you guys think about his decision on the QB situation? I personally feel that it shows Jason Campbell is just short of being the backup. If he gameplans with the coaches he would be fine. I think this is really genious! For those who haven't heard, Joe Gibbs said in his press conference, this is how he would handle the #2 QB job.
a) If Brunell goes down during a game, Collins steps in for Brunell. b) If Brunell is out for a week or so, and Campbell has a week to gameplan, he will be the starter.

What I think is that, if Brunell goes out, and Collins comes in and looks extremely good, he's going to start the next week. I don't care what Gibbs current 'plan' is. Gibbs is going to put whomever he thinks gives us the best chance in there.
I think he's trying to take a little of the pressure off Campbell, which is a good thing... |

I think that for me to think I know more about the QB situation than Joe Gibbs would be like him thinking he knows more than me about my porn collection - it's just not going to happen!
My own uneducated opinion still thinks this is a pretty rad idea, though. Unconventional, but what really hasn't been lately? |

Flawless, and it's what we've been talking about in some other threads. I like it.

This is what I've been saying pretty much the whole off-season. I think he got it right. Or maybe I should say, I'm glad he agrees with me, because I am sure Gibbs and his staff know more than I do about this situation. I'm just happy that they seem to like what they see from Jason.

I'm not a huge collins supporter but I think hes been catchin a bit to much heat. If your gonna mention the 4th string defense, remember, he had 4th string recievers, RBs, and the O-line. I'm just sayin. As for gibbs decision. I liked it. |

Alright i thought i was going to make a seperate therad on this but what if
#1. we are fighting for maybe a playoff spot or home field advantage, do we still start campbell? #2. we are winning 44-10 and do we insert collins for mop up duty? #3. we have no chance in winning the game maybe 36-0, collins coming in to finish it? |

Todd is familiar with the offense and he doesn't need to "second guess", he showed-up in the final pre-season game !!. ![]()

In other words its a cop out. If Collins plays well, he just changes his mind and starts Collins. If Collins plays poorly, he goes with the plan. Pretty smart if you ask me. |
