Default Taylor gets flagged but the Vikings DB doesn't!!

I'm sure it happens more than I think, but I get tired of the refs calling stuff on our team and not on theirs. How come the Vikings DB can take a cheap shot on Lloyd and not get flagged, but Taylor hits his guy with his SHOULDER and does? P's me off!!!

Cuase the league thought it would be "awesome" if the "New-Look" Vikings defeated the Washington Redskins on ESPN Monday night football.

Taylor didn't hit the guy late, he would've made the tackle if he caught it!!!

Youre right, it's BS. I don't know why, but it's certainly not fair.

Default Officiating

No one on this board should try to pin anything on the refs tonight. We had the best crew in the league working this game, and there was only one bad call (the Sean Taylor late hit/unnecessary roughness penalty). And that wasn't even a game-changer because they went four and out immediately afterwards.

Pin the blame for this loss on:

(a) terribly simplistic, one-dimensional offensive playcalling
(b) swiss cheese on defense
(c) keep Hall and Frost, and this will happen frequently

I think that everyone is jumping to conclusions based on what the announcers THINK happened. On the Sean Taylor hit, he did lead with his helmet and the announcers interpret that penalty as the 'officials are really making an effort this season to protect players' blah blah blah. No. The official thought ST led with his helmet and threw the flag, plain and simple. The Vikings corner simply hit Lloyd after he touched the ball to knock him out of bounds. There can't be a penalty on a play like that.

I have to say the Pen. on Taylor was BS. Most of the games this weekend had some piss poor reffing. But gotta say, the defense coudn't get off the field on 3rd downs and that lost the game, along with Holl not being able to kick a freaking FG.

I do think that was a late hit on Lloyd...and I'm very angry that ST gets screwed on a terrible personal foul call and that didn't get called.

But...our issues tonight were TERRIBLE defensive play and (despite the fact it was a 48 yarder) a miserable kicker.

Agreed. The WR screen to Moss was great the first time, but I think the Vikes caught on by the 3rd time we tried it.

The first week of officiating across the board has been subpar.

Not a good start to the NFL season for the refs by all accounts.

No, the absolute bull is that we only scored 16 points. Look, I'm usually as critical of the refs as anybody, but this game we did it to ourselves. No more settling for feild goals. And 19 points is a great day for a Defense, and we wasted it.
