Champ Bailey
I am listening to the Sports Reporters and they mentioned a possible reason why Champ Bailey did not and could not resign with us in 2004. They said it was only a rumor but hinted it was too explosive to even mention it over the radio.
Does anyone have any idea what they are talking about? This is driving me crazy now. Is this information declassified now?

The rumour is that he was going to leave in FA because he got caught with his hand in the cookie jar with a WaPo photographer and his wife basically gave him the ultimatum that either we leave town, or she leaves him. So basically the Skins got CP for a 2nd Rounder because Champ was going to leave anyhow.

RUMOR of why Champ left DC....
Ok guys, this is a straight up rumor and nothing more. A buddy of mine who works at the Washington Post said there is a reason why Champ requested a trade and stopped negotiating with the Redskins.
He said he knocked up a lady who works for the Post and his wife found out and told him if he doesnt leave the area, that she will take it public and ruin is image. Supposedly this will be coming out in the next few weeks. Again this is just a rumor that a buddy of mine who works at the Post told me. I wonder how true it is, but he usually is right in most cases, but this just sounds toooo stupid to believe. |

Wow. Champ an adulter? I met him once and he seemed real low key. He was with Fred Smoot and some other guys from the team at the then club called Dream. They were both cool. Champ and I talked for a while and then my friend asked him to dance and I started talking to Smoot. I am not sure what happened after that. Just conversation I suppose.
