For Immediate Release May 22, 2007 STATEMENT FROM THE WASHINGTON REDSKINS The Washington Redskins, as an organization, obviously would never condone anything related to animal cruelty. The team takes the recent comments of Clinton Portis very seriously and apologizes to everyone that was offended.

It's almost beyond funny.
I sent some folks at the team my lead for the next Fan View I'm going to write. "It's a dog eat dog world..." That society has risen to the point it is COMMON for a person's employer to aplogize for the beliefs or statements of the employee likely means that dog won't hunt  .

Portis' comments have been taken completely out of context. People are infering way to much from what he said.
Clinton Portis is from mississippi, where until 97' it was legal to fight dogs, and even still, it was a misdemeanor if caught fighting dogs. On top of that, in that culture, dog fighting, along with rooster fighting, people turn a blind eye to that. Furthermore, CP was just talking about how individual rights of property, something valued in the south, should be respected. |

in related news after hearing dog fighting is a felony, Jerrah Jones has decided not to include a dog fighting pit, and **** fighting ring in his new stadium
but will keep the bear/lion wrestling arena
