Don't be embarrassed to be a Skins fan!

It's ridiculous how much hate we get.

Here's a telling stat.

Only THREE teams have won more Super Bowls than the Redskins. THREE. San Francisco, Dallas, and Pittsburgh.

Only Dallas, Denver, and Pittsburgh have BEEN to more Super Bowls than us.

Only 17 teams have even WON a SINGLE Super Bowl in the first place.

Only one team can win each year. In the grand scheme of things, in the big picture, in the overall picture the NFL is painting, the Redskins are one of the best teams out there.

Be proud to be a Skins fan. We are among the elite, and we have a good chance to climb even higher very soon.

And, most importantly, quit hating on Gibbs, who is the REASON we are among the elite.

I don't think anyone is particularly embarassed. I think some people are simply frustrated with the struggles we've encountered over the last few years. But skins fans are a proud bunch, for good reason.

Anyone who confesses being 'ashamed' isn't a fan. You take the lows and wait for the highs. Its that way for every NFL fan.

And as you indicated, we've got some incredible history - a lot of fans don't have that to carry them through the rough years.

I admire Gibbs - he got us back to the playoffs once already, and I still believe we'll go deep in them once more before he's done for good.

I, for one, have never been embarrassed to proclaim my love for this team. Even when we were 2 -14..I wore my gear proudly. When I was given a hard time about it..I would say..."hey..someone has to love them". I've loved this team since I was 10y/o...It would take an act of God to change me at this point. I was watching the NFL network last nite and they were showing the Top 10 One Hit wonders...and they showed that dern Clint Longley Thanksgiving day game when we got Staubach out of there and this guy from the darkest deepest crevice of the ground came in and threw pass after pass...and the game winner went to Drew Pearson from this no name QB..and it hurt just as much last nite as it did in 1974!.. But then...they showed Timmy Smith and his performance in that SB against Denver...You know the one..42-10...sound familiar? The Doug Williams SB!!..AAAAAhhhh those were the days!...

i dunno, some people seem to be embarassed when they post stupid ass **** like "if the skins trade for player x, or dont draft player x ,etc, then i quit being a fan" anyone remember that poll where "fans" actually said they would stop being fans if the skins traded for briggs?

The only thing that bothers me about this team is seeing grown men wear pig snouts and dresses. I could really do without that.

I'm not familiar with that poll. the results had to have been disturbing for you to bring it up. what were the results?

I wear all my Redskins attire with pure pride. I'll never be embarrased to be a Redskins fan. Anytime I see another Redskins fan on the road, I'll always wave or show some Redskins Souvenir I have so that they know there are others in the neighborhood. Makes me feel good inside.

We have never been worse than 3-13 in my lifetime. Hopefully, you're not talking about the year we went 2-7-2 in 1935


Also, for the record, we went 1-9-2 in 1960 and 1-12-1 in 1961, and we beat the Cowboys with our only win both times

Agreed...but remember TARHOG...alot of the young-uns werent around for that time period so its tough to "live" off those scraps...those few of us that were sit back and watch, and wait, comparing, analizing and believing....

I love seeing Redskins fans on the road or anywhere for that matter. I always am compelled to say something to them. Feels good seeing them around.

I for 1 will never be embarassed to be REDSKINS fan,even after bad seasons I take the heat and dish it out especially with Eagle fans. All you have to tell them is win 1 then talk to me.
