ES COVERAGE: OTAs June 7 Hi all, running late as balls... I'm heading down to the field and will see you in a bit. Flash The Redskins announced today the signing of CB Jerametrious Butler. To make room on the roster the team released CB Chip Cox. Ok, back in the house. I see I am being flogged for my tardiness. I have no excuse...other than this was actually Murf's day but he came up with some lame-ass excuse . Audio will be up shortly. Depending on how long that takes I will probably do a brief write up AUDIO To listen to Mark Brunell click HERE To listen to Mike Espy click HERE To listen to Vernon Fox click HERE To listen to Anthony Montgomery click HERE To listen to Mike Sellers click HERE To listen to Renaldo Wynn click HERE Well gang, this concludes the 2007 Thursday open-OTA coverage. I will share with you that covering OTAs is like going to a mini-camp once a week - just as awesome. Today could not been more beautiful, with temps in the 80’s and humidity low. Because it is so pleasant you don’t notice as your face becomes sunburned. Ah yes, in even the little ways I am living up to my wife’s designation of me as a red-faced a-hole. When I arrived on the fields the team had completed stretching and position drills were underway. During this time I had a chance to hang-out near Greg Blache as he worked with the D-line. They worked on reading the running-back in motion and how to react accordingly. This was pure coaching. This was not a drill (forgive the pun). As someone who yearns to learn more and more about the game of football this was heaven. It is one thing to see players drilling and practicing. It is another to listen to an experienced, successful position coach work with professional players. Yea, life is good. The football looked solid today. Campbell continues to impress. I looked closely at his release today as I had been asked a few times about it. It appears quicker now. He is clearly the number one guy as far as his throws and generalship. Brunell is now participating fully. I did not see him throw a pass deeper than 15 yards today and I did notice him throw behind a receiver on a crossing route. I had a chance to interview him, and it was the first time I had ever done so. In case you ever wanted to know what a seasoned, media savvy, athlete sounds like while being interviewed, just listed to my audio with him. Collins looked good today. He and Mike Espy hooked up a few times on a couple of deep passes that were money. Speaking of Mike Espy, he had a very good session, catching everything near him. Moss remains out with a groin and B. Lloyd was not here today. On defense today saw a lot of head-in-hands by defenders as balls that should have been picked bounced thru their hands. I witnessed this scene play out with FRED Smoot, Rocky McIntosh, Pearson Prioleau, and others. Most of these passes were thrown by Jordan Palmer, who seems to have excelled ahead of Hollenbach (who got no reps) on the depth chart. Play of the Day Vernon on a blitz deflects the pass in the backfield, catches it, and would have been gone for a TD in a game. Notable No-Shows • Santana Moss • Shawn Springs • Sean Taylor • Brandon Lloyd • London Fletcher • Marcus Washington Quotes of the Day “Ok let’s go. We’re sitting here bulls**ting and we got to get some work in.” – Danny Smith to the kickers “Them machines are funky. Get one warm up in before you get down there and get it in the nuts. Let’s go.” – Danny Smith to the kickers speaking of the jugs machine “Work the slide, change your depth, and put your nuts in the gap!” – Gregg Williams to the defense during run-stopping drills “That simple ½ yard movement changes the angle the runner has to take trying to get outside.” – Gregg Williams to the linebackers during run-stopping drills Ok, I have to rush back for a meeting (can’t the world just leave me alone?!). I’ll be back on to answer any questions you guys may have.

Slacker. Give him an avatar and official position and he starts messing around.

Really. Next thing you know, he'll stop going to Redskin Park altogether, and just start giving us info from his "unnamed sources". ![]() Seriously, thanks for the updates, JimmiJo. It is very much appreciated. ![]()

Awsome as usual JimmiJo, love to hear Sellers say he is in the best shape of his life and Montgomery says he is stronger and lost some weight.
