KC tagged him and it would take 2 #1 picks to get him..........but wow......65 tackles, 15.5 sacks and 3 forced fumbles last year! I know it's alot to give up, but maybe it would be worth it. Probably not going to happen, but something to think about. He is exactly what we need. What do you think? Would it be worth it knowing we would get a beast on the line?

As good as he is, I don't think so.
We need to address other positions aswell and if he doesn't live up to the expectations (like most free agents signed by the Redskins do), that'll really suck. |

I'm only typing this sentence because we need at least ten characters in a response.
NO!!!!!!!!! I understand that Allen is amazing, but we have too many holes that we need filled this year and next year.

No one is worth two 1st round picks. I don't care if they walk on water.

Right now, the only player in the NFL worth 2 first round pics would Adrian Peterson or Ladanian Tomlinson. Ok, I'll add Brady and Manning also
2 first round picks is HUGE. Just see what Seattle did with the 2 first round picks they got from the Cowgirls for Joey Galloway ![]()

I hear ya, just looking at talent and age. He's a PROVEN animal who would make an immediate impact, and who knows what will happen with our pics, although, we've been fantastic in the 1st round lately.....so, I get it, just putting it out there as food for thought, I don't know if I would want that either, but it is tempting to a certain degree.
Bonecrusher - I don't think so, they franchised him. |

No runningback is worth two first round picks, SHF. RBs are a dime a dozen in the NFL. Adrian Peterson is not what everyone makes him out to be. What did he do against us? There were a few games last season where he was held completely in check. Granted, he IS a damned good back, but he's not Superman. If I were a GM, I would NEVER give two first round picks for a runningback. In fact, I'm not sure there's a situation I'd give up two first round draft picks unless it involves a Peyton Manning/Tom Brady-like quarterback.

nonononononononononononononononoNO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
giving up two first round picks would kill us!!!!! we need to retool the offensive line and get another defensive tackle and end. taking away two first round talents that could potentally be on our lines would be stupid.

How can you say "no one is ever worth 2 1st round picks" - I mean don't get me wrong, that's a lot to pay up for ONE player, but when that one player is the sack machine known as Jared Allen, and young, I say it is. #1 picks aren't guaranteed to work either. Round 1, pick 21, surely isn't guaranteed to be a long-term starter. Possibly - YES - but ALL - STAR quality like Allen is hard to come-by. I don't know that I would want us to give up this compensation either, BUT, I wouldn't be mad at it either. I mean people on here have been wanting us to give up a 1 for CJ#85, NO THANKS, if you're going to spend big, get BIG results. CJ is a high caliber player, but he's also a nagging high need player that will distract from the team . Is Allen that way? I think not.

Tomlinson, Brady and Manning are about the only players I would give two #1 draft picks for. No way for this guy.
Only way I'd do it is if I was in a position like the Cowboys, who have an extra this year and plan to have a low 1st rounder next year.

To trade two 1st rounders to move up and grab Chris Long or McFadden would both be bad moves as NEITHER is a PROVEN NFL star, Allen is.
