Default Whatever trade Snyder does we overpay

Not in terms of market value but in terms of public perception. With all the Boldin rumors going around, people say we'll give a 1st this year and a third next year. It will more likely be a 1st this year, a 3rd this year, a 1st next year and the 1st the year after that. That Chad Johnson deal was a lot more than I thought we would give up. Same goes with the Portis trade. What do you guys think? Boldin is a pretty good player but I think at a certain point, you have to keep a certain amount of draft picks because they are important too.

And no matter what move the Redskins make you are still all over the FO's sack.

Two can play this game, my friend.

You are the KING of all Homers, your opinion is not to be taken seriously.

I tend to agree. Im not opposed to the team making a draft-day trade for Boldin, Williams or even Chad, but the price must be right. Im tired of seeing Snyder get bent over a barrel to make a deal happen just so sheriff Snyder can always get his man.

That might be unfair to Snyder because in the case of Portis, I am sure Gibbs had a lot to do with that situation. However, Snyder does seem to lack shrewdness when it somes to landing deals for players that the organization covets. At some point, Snyder needs to be able to walk away from the table and not look back unless the other trading partner taps him on the shoulder with a better offer. That is how fair deals are made.

Two first rounders for Chad, a 30 yr old WR who probably only has a couple Pro-Bowl seasons left in him, seems to be too much IMO. If trading for a WR is that important to the success of the Redskins, Id rather see similar rescourses go towards a younger WR like Williams or Boldin.

Bottom line is I get the feeling that the Bengals saved Snyder (and the Redskins) from himself by rejecting the Skins offer for Chad today.

Washington times say the Redskins already said the story was not true on the deal for Chad. Again Rumor, Gossip reporter hungry for news.

I had a girlfriend that kinda reminded me of Snyder.

She was very tactical when it came to shopping. Talking about finding deals and sales... all that jazz. But when she saw something that she loved, she extended herself and paid a premium. Happily.

The Pats were patient and waited for Moss. The Eagles acquired TO and Stallworth for cheap.

The buyer doesn't always need to be the beggar, but when Snyder is enamored he's willing to overpay.

Don't think for a second that Chad's marketability isn't a huge factor here. At worst Chad will bring in more $$$ for Snyder, even if he flopped on the field.

You are 100% right on this one. Couldn't have said it better myself.

Well, considering that the Bengals didn't accept the offer, it must not have been high enough.
