Default Andre the Giant...Almost a Redskin?

http://www.wwe.com/superstars/hallof...ethegiant/bio/

"Though the company would change dramatically, Andre would remain with the McMahon family for the next 20 years; he was even offered a contract by the NFL’s Washington Redskins in 1974, but turned it down to stay in the ring."

I'm sure some of the older fans may know more about this than I do.

I read about this in the Redskins Encyclopedia. There's a picture of him with Joe Theismann in there.

Apparently he declined a contract worth about $100K.

Yea I heard about that, for special teams purposes. Probably would have worked too. At the very least he would have commanded some double/triple teams to free other guys up, or so I would think.
