Default New Tailgating Policies ?? (at Fed Ex) M.E.T. & Merged

During tonight's weekly poker game I was discussing the upcoming season with a fellow STH and he asked me if I had heard about the parking changes... Long story short, he ended up showing me an email that I had obviously missed that outlined the changes in the parking (new gray, no more blue, etc.). Also, in the attached .pdf file of the new parking guide was the following on "new tailgating policies"... "Tailgating is permitted only in the last FEW rows of each lot." and "All vehicles will be directed to specific spaces in each lot." I'm not sure if I understand the ramifications of these apparent change in tailgating policies... anyone else wondering what this means?

Heard this might happen... how strictly they enforce it, I have no idea...

I have been working on MTH for a couple years now... maybe I can finally get him over with the rest of us...

If true, there is no way in hell they are going to police this, hell they cant even police the "do not use parking spaces for tailgating" policy printed on the back of parking passes

That's what I was thinking also, how are they going to monitor the tailgating.
besides that, anyone who has been apart of that race to the spots when the gates open please tell me how they are going to direct you to a space? There are cars going everywhere, what are they going to line us up single file?
Follow us to a spot and then tell us we have to go to a different spot?

Seems like a pita if you ask me, what's wrong with the old way?

Not true. In Dallas, grilling is only allowed behind a line. They have cops patrolling in golf carts. FedEx could easily be patrolled by PG's finest.

Dumbest rule ever! With the amount of people tailgating, how are they going to accommodate everyone and try to get everyone to a special area? There will be more people wanting to grill than there will be room. Just chill out and let people have fun!

I agree. As long as people aren't causing problems, who cares!

This will be enforced.

In Dallas, the change came LAST YEAR, in anticipation of the new stadium. Those who tailgated all over the lots had to find different places that were clearly marked with yellow tailgating paint. It worked out last year, at least for me.

Also, in Dallas, police were everywhere, looking for parking passes on canopies. I had 5 parking spaces. 3 for tents and 2 for cars. Those who did not have a parking pass taped to the tents were ticketed, had to take the tent down, and am not sure if had to leave parking lot.

I don't think at FedEx that tents are going to be allowed except on the last rows.

This is because of the incident last year.

7 cars burnt.

So, it can be said that people did cause problems.

Very true. I did forget about that. But wasn't that because someone but a grill with hot coals back into their car? That could happen anywhere in the parking lot.

Sounds like tailgating will be even tougher to do now with this new rule.

Could it be that for 10 years Snyder smelled the grills cooking as his helicopter landed at FedEx, and to him it smelled like money going up in smoke as people ate their fill in the parking lots and stayed away from the high priced concessions inside? Cram all the tailgaters into a few jam-packed rows and hassle those that don't comply until the concessions don't see like such a bad alternative...
